Chatham Island caught Blue Cod. Medium textured white fish with a mild flavour. They are mainly found in the colder waters of the South Island.
These shatterpacks are B Grade – whole fillets, but may have blemishes, bruising or blood spots. This won't affect the cooking capabilities or taste. Visual appearance affected making it a non export grade product.
Preparation: Its textured white flesh and low oil content make it suitable for most cooking methods. Blue Cod is commonly used for Fish & Chips. Pan fry's extremely well on the skin, also deep fried with crumbs or batter.
Availability: All year round while stocks last.
Shelf life: Best consumed on arrival or within 3 days from receiving product if defrosted.
