They are common in cooler waters, and can be found at depths of 20 to 200 metres. Blue Warehou grow rapidly for up to 10 years. Blue Warehou have a deep, plump body, and a long pointed pectoral fin. It is similar in shape to the trevally, and has a forehead that becomes more abruptly rounded as the fish increases in size.

Preparation: It has medium-textured flesh with a low to medium oil content. Best suited to moist heat cooking methods, and in strong flavoured dishes, such as a curry.
