Hake has soft and delicate flesh with few bones. The fillets remain very moist when cooked. Ideal for pan frying or coated in crumb or batter for deep frying.
Hake is of the Merlucciidae family and is mainly caught in NZ although there are more than a dozen species.
Preparation: Hake have white flesh that is moist with few bones and a delicate texture. Hake fillets are a consistent thickness and texture which make them perfect for portioning.
